All Notes Off

  1. Press ⏹️ quickly three times in a row

Copy Entire Pattern

  1. Select the pattern to copy from

  2. Press Copy

  3. Press the step for the pattern to copy to

Copy Instrument Pattern

  1. Press Copy

  2. Press the pad of the instrument to copy from

  3. Optionally, press Bank and then a target bank

  4. Optionally, press Pattern and then a target pattern

  5. Press the pad of the instrument to copy to

Extend Pattern, blank data

  1. Select the pattern

  2. Hold Last Step, then press » to select the 16-step portion of the 64-step pattern

  3. Press step button 1–16 to set the last step of that 16-step portion

Extend Pattern, copying data

  1. Select the pattern

  2. Hold Shift and press »

Mute Instruments / Parts

  1. Tap Mute

  2. Tap the instrument/part to mute or unmute

  3. Tapping Mute again will unmute everything

  4. Tapping Mute again re-mute what was muted previously

  5. Hold Shift and tap Mute to clear all solo'ed instruments from the group

This is the behavior when in Toggle mode, which is set in MIDI Control Center

Polyrhythms / Step Count Per Instrument

  1. Hold Shift and tap 16 to enable Polyrhythms for the pattern (if needed)

  2. Tap one of the pads to configure its pattern length

  3. Tap Step to enter step edit mode

  4. Hold Last Step and tap one of the buttons 1–16 to set the last step for that instrument

Random for Instrument

  1. Tap the instrument/part to edit (button 1–6)

  2. Tap Current Track, next to the Random knob.

  3. Adjust Random to add random behavior to that track.

Random for Pattern

  1. If lit, tap Current Track, next to the Random knob so that it's unlit.

  2. Adjust Random to add random behavior to the pattern.

Ratchet or Flam Steps

  1. Tap the instrument to edit

  2. Hold down a step button 1–16

  3. Tap the Roller to set the repeat:

    • 1⁄4 for 1 trigger
    • 1⁄8 for 2 triggers
    • 1⁄16 for 3 triggers
    • 1⁄32 for 4 triggers

When holding down the step, the light above the Roller indicates the current state

Roll Instrument (Roller)

  1. Press ▶️ to start playback

  2. Hold Shift and tap 9 so that the button is lit

  3. Hold down one of the four buttons in the Touch Strip

  4. Tap and hold an instrument button to roll that instrument

The frequency of the roll depends upon where on the Touch Strip you are touching

Solo Instruments / Parts

  1. Tap Solo

  2. Tap the instrument/part to solo or remove from solo group

  3. Tapping Solo again will unmute everything

  4. Tapping Solo again re-solo what was solo'ed previously

  5. Hold Shift and tap Solo to clear all solo'ed instruments from the group

Step Repeat (Looper)

  1. Press ▶️ to start playback

  2. Hold Shift and tap 9 so that the button is unlit

  3. Hold down one of the four buttons in the Touch Strip

  4. Tap and hold a step button to repeat the pattern from that step

The length of the repeat depends upon where on the Touch Strip you are touching

Time Division

  1. Select the pattern to modify

  2. Hold Shift and tap 1–5 to change the timing of steps. Refer to the blue labels

Notes and Non-Obvious Behaviors

  • You must hit Sync to select MIDI if using MIDI. Every. Single. Time.

  • The “Auto Sync” feature available in MIDI control center doesn't exactly work. It reverts the Drumbrute to the internal clock often and creates an unreliable situation

  • Closed HH will choke Open HH

  • When cable is plugged into individual out, it's removed from the main out and headphones out

  • Distortion only applies to instruments sent into Main out, not anything on individual outs

  • Before using MCC to change things, import your patterns or they will be lost when you update the Drumbrute Impact
